Zions Place is a safe haven that gives each child a voice to tell their story with the assurance that they will be protected, believed, and loved.
Zions Place intends to be an organization for Trauma-Informed Care. Our mission is to “MAKE SOME NOISE” on the public health crisis of childhood trauma. No child should be abused or mistreated on any level. After all, our children were created to be loved and give love in return. #Serveandreturn
What do we mean by serve and return? Children serve what adults give to them. How we show or model this world to a child we be the actions that child gives back. So, let’s treat our children with respect and care so they carry-on that way as adults.
Zions Place aims to influence the lives of families across the nation. We deeply advocate on every child’s behalf by rescuing, healing, and empowering each child. We want to bring awareness that trauma does not define who you are. Each unique child is resilient. We will help children discover his/her resilience by enforcing the values of safety, love, growth, strength, hope, and healing.
Through Zions Place, each child will be taught the tools to cope with stress by helping schools effectively support all students affected by childhood trauma. School leaders will be taught the tools to make sure children affected by trauma feel safe physically, socially, emotionally, and academically. Zions Place will not only identify these children for trauma-informed intervention, with the help of school leadership but will also enter each child’s home to assess their living conditions and help the child as a whole. It is necessary to feel safe at school and at home to achieve real healing.
Parents and caregivers will get the support they need from our non-judgmental Family Coach team that is comprised of licensed social workers and heavily-supervised Master’s Level interns. Coordinated services will supply families with the effective help they need. Our Family Coaches will address the needs of each child in a holistic way by taking into account the barriers and challenges that their families face daily. Parents and caregivers will be provided ACE’s (adverse childhood experience) training to become certified in proper healing of a child affected by trauma.
Zions Place will help provide children and families with the resilience to overcome negative events and the understanding that there are positive ways to live a vibrant and fruitful life.
